Kentucky Historical Society
Free Workshops to help people learn how to preserve local cemeteries. The workshops will cover topics such as state cemetery laws, access to family cemeteries, preservation efforts and introduction of two new programs, Pioneer Cemetery and Adopt-a-Cemetery.

Cemetery Landscapes: A Practical Guide to Care and Maintenace in cooperation with the Chicora Foundation, Inc., the Hawaii State Historic Preservation Division, and Historic Preservation Program, University of Hawaii Registration. A registration form is available online at www.npi.org/register.html. The regular registration rate is $500 (2 days – Cem Pres) / $325 (1 day – Cem Landscape) / $650 (3 days – both seminars).

The video’s below are John Heider of Monticello spoke at the Harrisburg District Library about cemetery preservation and dowsing for graves. John received a Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award for 2006/2007, in recognition of his work in restoring many cemeteries in Piatt County, IL. Harrisburg
