It’s spring time! Most Cemeteries do a bi-annual clean up. Once in the spring and once in the late fall. Cemetery caretakers remove floral tributes, decorations and wreaths. Brush and tree limbs also need to be removed. Many cemeteries ask for community volunteers to help staff by having a civic pride event day, set for everyone to join in. After all everyone wants their local cemeteries to be in respectful condition in time for Memorial Day.
Another possibility, if your cemetery does not have a community clean up event, would be to sponsor one yourself. After gaining permission from the caretakers, plan a day and invite people to come out and help. You could recruit more people by making fliers, posting it as an event on your Facebook wall, taking out an ad in the paper, or asking your local radio stations to mention it.
