Our Mission

It is our objective at Save A Grave.net to encourage an attitude of respect for any burial site.  Gravestones are damaged, destroyed or removed illegally and laws are rarely enforced. Unprotected graves may fall prey to land developers or others who seek personal gain, showing no respect for the dead or their families. We would like to encourage preservation, one gravestone at a time. With the lack of laws that fully protect gravesites we want to teach people best practices and standards so that more damage is not caused. We wish for private property owners to allow access to legitimate groups to do repairs and upkeep to burial sites, and to please allow interested people the opportunity to visit the grave sites. We would like to ask everyone to participate in photographing the gravestones and adding them to the database at http://www.findagrave.com.
